Do hebreu Peseach, Páscoa significa a passagem da escravidão para a liberdade. É a maior festa do cristianismo e,
naturalmente, de todos os cristãos, pois nela se comemora a Passagem de Cristo – "deste mundo para o Pai",
da "morte para a vida", das "trevas para a luz". l
Entre os símbolos da Páscoa estão:
O Ovo de Páscoa
A existência da vida está intimamente ligada ao ovo, que simboliza o nascimento.
Coelhinho da Páscoa
Por serem animais com capacidade de gerar grandes ninhadas, sua imagem simboliza a
capacidade da Igreja de produzir novos discípulos constantemente.
A Cruz da Ressurreição
Traduz, ao mesmo tempo, sofrimento e ressurreição.
O Cordeiro
Simboliza Cristo, que é o cordeiro de Deus, e se sacrificou em favor de todo o rebanho.
O Pão e o Vinho
Representão o corpo e o sangue de Jesus, e são entregues aos seus dicípulos , para celebrar a vida eterna.
O Círio
É a grande vela que se acende na Aleluia. Quer dizer: "Cristo, a luz dos povos".
Alfa e Ômega nela gravadas querem dizer: "Deus é o princípio e o fim de tudo".
